Here is some information on the Chinese Alligator.
The Chinese Alligator
We can protect these Chinese alligators by not poaching/hunting them and not destroying their habitats in which they live in. The farmers and people are polluting the water and the alligators can’t survive with water pollution.
The magnificent Chinese Alligator is on the edge of becoming an endangered specie. The cause of the Chinese Alligators’ population decreasing is that we are destroying their habitats and the farmers pesticides/chemicals are polluting the water the alligators are living in. Hunting these reptiles has also decreased the population.
Appearance:
Averages about 5 feet long, bony plates on upper eyelids and juveniles have bright yellow cross banding on their backs.
Where It Lives:
Mainly in China and its habitat is slow moving, freshwater rivers, streams, lakes and ponds
We need to protects the specie of the Chinese Alligator because if it becomes extinct then it will have a big effect on its surrounding ecosystem. The population numbers of the animals or amphibians that it eats may increase because the alligator can’t eat them. If other bigger alligators eat the Chinese Alligator then that is apart of their food supply so they may starve or loose food. It will effect a big number of species if this Alligator becomes extinct.
