Busy? Then clear up your daily communication by bettering your diary skills.

Intro

“I’m busy,” is a popular excuse and that’s just what it is, an excuse. Similar to, “I’m too old,” and, “I can’t afford it,” they all are simply rooted in poor communication. Those of us who feel overwhelmed by work, by our lot in life and our finances should start taking a hard look at why you feel, “busy, old or broke.”

I would bet my day on one simple fact; your daily diary, your schedule and your duties are poorly communicated. So, here is the solution to a scattered, dysfunctional day.

From Zero to Hero

If you feel, “snowed under,” by your duties the first way to clean up your day is to stop, take a deep breath and a long pause. When you have collected your thoughts simply jot down every single, tiny and important task at hand. After making this list ask, “What will bring me the most value or income or both?”

Choose the most valuable task and write an, “A,” next to it. Then, next to the second most lucrative task write, “B.” For your next most valuable task write, “C,” then,  “D,” and so on until each task has a letter of importance next to it.

Now, to the exclusion of everything on the list, do only the, “A,” task until it is complete, finished – well and good. This method will quickly show you how to prioritize your daily diary and become focused, effective and functional.

To your amazement the least important tasks will dissolve into fresh air. Gradually, too, your income will grow because only the most important, “livelihood,” tasks get done. Napoleon Bonaparte, it’s said, used this method of diary delivery to conquer all old Europe. You see, it’s far better to do one thing very well than try and do many picayune tasks.

This clearing of your daily communication can be crafted for all tasks both big and small.

Turn it Off!

Another way to improve your daily schedule is focus only on the information that benefits your bank balance or enhances your relationships. Is watching TV beneficial to your livelihood or family? Reading popular magazines? Going onto Facebook?

Remove unprofitable influences like soapy, newsy TV, gossipy magazines and Facebook morons, “honing -in,” entirely on those, “high paying,” rewards in your day.

The Dance of the Diaries

Clean up your schedule by keeping an uber-diary that clearly outlines duties and attainments. You can use this main diary for most things. A good uber-diary can show:

  • A clear daily routine of tasks that pay money
  • Birthdays, anniversaries and important family dates that bring you satisfaction beyond any cash
  • Annual achievements that fill your years with good news
  • A fabulous way to keep and set goals.

“Cleaning up,” your daily diary and getting totally organised will see you, “Think Smarter,” rather than, “Harder,” about your work. You will replace, “I’m busy,” with, “Sure, let’s do lunch!”

Good Luck! Get Organised!
