So here it is, Columbus Day, and I’m confused like many as to who’s open and who isn’t.  I know local schools are closed.  My bank is open though, it’s one of those 7 days a week banks.  I’m guessing the bank isn’t open. I’ll have to call about the library.  But what I’m really confused about is, how do we celebrate Columbus Day?

     I guess we could throw parties and dress like Native Americans and have a feast.  Or sit around with snacks and reminisce how lost Columbus was and make fun of him.  Maybe rent a movie from the local library that tells the story of Columbus?  I’m just at a lost as to what to do.  Usually through out the years it’s been known how to celebrate each holiday but Columbus, nothing.

     Shouldn’t other countries be celebrating today too?  Like Spain, maybe England.  The Indies?  I don’t even know Christopher Columbus’s origin.  What country is he from?

    Maybe I’ll go shopping to ease my mind.
