Challenges of life or life situations; how do we deal with them? Everyday we are faced with choices – sometimes we made good choices, sometimes bad.

Confronted

By Kate Francesca.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him [God] out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.”  I John 1:9-10

While settling in to a new home a neighbour became angry with me regarding a fence issue. I think it was the worst confrontation of my life. My spirit is a bruised reed and fears confrontation; since childhood.

Over the years God, my Father, has slowly healed and continues to heal and remake me. So when confronted by this very angry neighbour I stood my ground – humbly, thanks to the reshaping God had performed in me. We settled the issue amicably, praise the Lord.

Meditating on this incident I realised I could stand firm because I knew where I stood with God. I am His child and I am precious to Him. This new attitude has two elements. First, as one saved from sin, as one snatched from the fire, my confidence as a child of God allowed me to stand my ground and face the barrage of angry words.

Secondly, because it is by God’s mercy and grace that I am saved and not by anything I could do for myself, humility reigned. I could not retaliate in any way, shape or form, but at the same time knew this lady could not dominate me. I listened respectfully, after all she is God’s creation too and He loves her.

What freedom there is in the Kingdom of Heaven! What love beyond all measure!

Have you acknowledged your wilfulness and pride? Receive the forgiveness and healing that comes through Christ Jesus alone. He is Messiah Jeshua (His Hebrew name), the name above all names.
