Exploring Criminal Justice

I have always ask myself, how the world would be like, if heroes of the movies, like Superman were real, how amazing that would be? Crime wouldn’t exist! But in the real world, the only real people that I consider heroes are Police Officers! Those are real heroes dealing with all kind of bad people, they never know what to expect, and their only weapons to defend themselves are their guns and their power of law.

The day I decide to study criminal justice I never realize how complex this career is, for me to become a Sheriff or a Detective is what really motives me every day to study and do everything as possible to finish what I just started. In my country police officer get kill every day, many people take justice in their own hands because some police officer are part of the mafia and the reason is because they need to make a living, their salary is not enough to support their families. This country is different; America has so many opportunities for this carrier, who said that it was going to be easy anyway? Law enforcement position is one of the most amazing carries, they take care of the community by keeping the streets clean out of drug dealers, kidnapper and of course drunk drivers. Being a Police officer is not only a job, it’s a career.

Criminal justice is the study of laws regarding criminal behavior. Criminal justice is always a goal, the arrest, prosecution, defense or judgment of a suspect aim to be fair since laws applied to those accused of a crime should be fair. (wisegeek)

Even though their power is  limited, and in some cases not able to do anything, because not every criminal leaves enough evidence behind on the scene of the crime, in cases like on a 5 year old David Augustin, his brand new bike that was given as award for selling the most T-Shirts for a fundraising of a baseball Little league, the 5 year old was heartbroken, His moms did a report with the police department but they couldn’t do much without a serial number to indentify the bicycle, (Nicols)

Couple of police officers and detectives took the job to put a big smile on this kid’s face again, by putting money together out of their own pocket to buy him a new bike (Nicols) Little things make a big difference, sometimes being a hero doesn’t mean that you have to kill the enemy, being a hero in a kids life is the most beautiful thing ever.
