Critical Thinking.

Critical Thinking, according to me, should enlighten one about how to broaden their perspective and integrate new ideas and thoughts with their own. Thinking/thoughts are something that changes every second of our daily lives. We experience different things everyday and at the end of the day we adopt some while rejecting others. So far in our course of studying Social Sciences, we have been taught what different people from different schools of thought think and how one school can be so different from the other yet they exist under the same heading. Everyone has a different perspective with which they view things. For example different sects amongst Muslims exist with entirely different ideologies yet they all call themselves Muslims.

Someone who is a critical thinker may analyze things in depth as compared to others. I personally am not a very optimistic person and to me what matters the most is what is visible. Dreams may exist for people but I am more of a practical and realistic person. I think it is always better to think of the consequences of an act and have a vision based more on practicality. This is one of the reasons I thought this course would be interesting as my chosen field is Psychology, which certainly does require having an analytical eye.

I am hoping to gain tremendously from this course.
