There are many ways of dying, hopefully the pills we take daily won’t put us in a danger zone, that will eventually kill us.

Danger Zone

Life is hard enough, if we aren’t being killed in car crashes, or Airplane crashes, or natural disasters, or someone has gone nuts with a gun, all of this is bad enough, but having to worry about Prescription Drugs killing us is a bit too much.

In today’s society there is a huge rush to get new prescription drugs on the market, and in that rush the Pharmaceutical Company’s don’t take enough time to study their products so when they put them on the market, they are sure that their products won’t eventually kill the people who take them.

It doesn’t matter if Health Canada, or the FDA in the United States approves certain drugs, they too don’t really know the full extent of what these new drugs can do. It seems that we the patients, or clients of these drug company’s are being used like lab rats, and we are constantly risking our lives, putting ourselves in a danger zone.

Though the possible side effects are listed, at least they are in Canada, its what they don’t say that scares me. A fine example of this is the Anti Inflammatory, Celebrex. Celebrex was originally designed for people who couldn’t take the other Anti-Inflammatories that were on the market, the ones that contained Aspirin. And what happened next is scary, people were starting to have heart attacks, and though it’s not 100% proven, in Canada Celebrex is slowly being removed from Pharmacy shelves, and it won’t be replaced.

Another drug, bought off the shelf, a cold medication, Dimetapp was found to contribute to people’s hearts racing, and it was modified, but not before a few people had heart attacks. We the buying public are constantly in danger from the very drugs that are supposed to be helping us. That’s why I figure we are constantly in a danger zone when we have to take medications. More research has to be done before drugs are released to the public, not after a few people die, but before they die. While this may cost the drug companies more money in research, at least when they do release something that is supposed to help people, they are sure that the people who buy these drugs won’t be killed by them.
