Popular tradition on Mexico.

It is a popular tradition celebrated in Mexico on November 1 and November 2, the first day is for children and second life for all dead.

These days the family should put an offer to their relative or friend that is death. It consists on putting all the food and drink that that person liked on a table, because it is believed that at the night their souls will come to eat and drink. The dishes includes what the dead friend liked and some popular Mexican food such as mole, tamales, typical candies, skull chocolates, fruits and for drinking wine, tequila, pulque, etc.

There should be a photo of the dead people. It should be decorated with flowers and candles.

Some families go to the cemetery to pass the day on their relative’s tomb, they gather, eat some food and it is common to hear popular bands playing traditional Mexican songs. The cemetery is open all day and night.

It is a celebration that makes people to see the death as a natural process of the life, it is a form to make laughable this fact. For example it is common to hear some poems called Calaveras that are compositions about the death which is characterized by the form of an skeleton , that consists on make jokes about this.
