Wondering if there will be anyone to replace the old style divas of the pop world.

I have just watched on some obscure satellite network the farewell tour of CHER.

Has she retired? If so I am going to miss her.

As the program moved on it was obvious the talent that this women had, not only the voice but the stage presence. Commanding the respect from the entire audience from first note to last encore, she was amazing to watch.

It made me think that this is possibly the last of the divas of a generation and possibly for the next few generations.

Madonna fails in the diva stakes as with every reincarnation it is seen as such by the general public.

The last “real” diva to retire was Tina Turner (though she is now on the last millions comeback trail. Now Cher is gone who is there left?

Brittany? Just a trailer trash dummy that had a one hit song and is now in constant rehab.

J.Lo who is only good if you are Spanish or like second rate movies?

Amy Whinehouse who will last as long as the bottle I am drinking (or maybe the one she is finishing).

Let’s face it the days of the superstar female solo singer are over, R.I.P.

Even the extortionist prices of Barbara are only down to the pink pound.

No for me the female singer is dead.

With the exception of Fergie from the Black eyed peas there is no one in my opinion capable of assuming the mantle of a true diva in the pop world. At least not in the sense that they were once known or am I getting too old?
