This is a short story that I wrote about a French sea captain who is searching for a lost treasure.
Captain Joque had been a deep sea diver for a great many years and was in search of Great Treasure of the Templars. This morning, he was wearing his usual attire, consisting of his black captain’s hat, black turtle neck which was made from wool and was very itchy, and long black polyester overcoat; he also had on a pair of black trousers made of cotton, and black rubber boots that fit quite snuggly. Joque had messy white hair and large light brown eyes. Lewis wore a blue short sleeved shirt made of cotton, with a brown leather overcoat. He also had on a pair of faded black pants and black rubber boots. Davis was short and somewhat fat and was bald; he had dark brown hair and green eyes. He was wearing a dark green cotton shirt, blue pants, and black rubber boots. Davis was in his mid-thirties. Hugh was from Menton, France and had grown up an orphan, he was taken in by an ambitious sea captain when he was a small boy, he considered the old captain his father. Hugh had been helping Joque plan and supply the ship and had been overwhelmed with work ever since they had lost a few men in a terrible storm on their last voyage. Hugh agreed to take up the extra work in order to help Joque succeed with finding the treasure. Montague, was tall and slim, and was in his early thirties, he was dressed in a short sleeve red v cut sweater made of cotton, he had a black waist coat and black pair of trousers made of cotton, and he also had a pair of black rubber boots, which were quite uncomfortable. Montague, had a small face, with dark brown eyes and golden yellow hair, he had a short blond stubble from not shaving in a few days.
It is not the job of a Captain to mop the deck.”
Amused, and slightly annoyed, Montague gave in and went below deck to join a few other crew members in playing cards. The rest of the crew, which consisted of Lewis, Marquette, and Davis.
Joque finished a short time later and made his rounds. Joque moved to the bridge, where Andre and Simon were steering the ship and making sure that it was on course. Lewis had outdone himself this time.
Yelled Joque.
Hugh and Montague went to either side of the ship and pushed the mechanical winch that dropped the heavy iron-anchors into the sea. After a short time, the 25,000-ton ship came to a halt. Simon and Andre followed Montague, Hugh, and the captain down to the lower deck to assist them in suiting up if need be. Montague, Hugh, and Joque, were assembled and ready to go within twenty minutes.
