Dr. Seuss aka Theodore Bikel.

I believe I am very close to the BIGGEST FAN of Dr. Seuss.  When I was a teacher, I use to read HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS.  For the next activity, students had to research his biography and write an essay.  I then chose students to read aloud to the class all the Seuss books I could find.  We did a Dr. Seuss crossword puzzle, designed a Seuss hat by coloring it with colored pencils or crayons.  At the end of the year, the student with the best Seuss hat won an award at the Awards Ceremony.  So, you can see, I am a BIG Seuss fan.  Oh, the other thing is, I taught middle school.

Oh, I know what you’re thinking.  I’ll tell you what I always answered when the Power-That-Be wanted to know what Seuss had to do with Math (that’s what I taught the remainder of the year).  I would start to lay out all the ways Dr. Seuss related to math.  Math is in everything we see and do.  How many?  How much?  How long?  How short?  What can you divide?  Can you divide
