Have you seen falling stars? They’re beautiful, aren’t they? Like the moon and the stars, it gives beauty to the sky at night. Some people believe that falling stars are angels sent from heaven to guide and protect us. There are native tribes that believe that their kings and rulers came from the stars and are sent by gods. But what really captured my attention is the belief that falling stars grant wishes.
I was still a little boy when I first saw a falling star. I was so mesmerized of how enchanting it looked. It all happened so fast. Being naïve’ and curious, I made a wish. It was just a childish wish and didn’t put that much thought into it. But I never forgot that wish.
A few years later, I was shocked at what I realized. The wish had come true and it’s now by far, the greatest thing that happened to me. That incident brought up my curiosity about this ancient belief.
Falling stars are not really stars. They are particles of rocks in the outer space that burns once it reaches the atmosphere of the earth. Then, in what way does it connect with our wishes?
Actually, beliefs all depend on the believer. If you truly believe in something and have as well, then, it’s true for you. It is not proven but you believe in it. That’s what really matters. And, that’s where the magic is. It’s not all the time that we need science and evidences for us to believe on something because there are things that science cannot explain. Science can’t make us believe if we refuse to but our inner selves can push us to go over beyond limits.
