Does call of duty hurt people? Does it help people? Is it just a video game?

Some overprotective parents find violence in a kids lives bad. Actually, it’s true that violence is really bad. But how about World of Warfare and Black Ops and Call of Duty. So many people play these games, but how are the kids affected.

I will start from a child I knows situation. He’s not allowed to play those games. I don’t think he’s too bothered by this though. (For now, I’ll call this child, Jon)

In his school, the kids around “Jon” that play Call of Duty and Black Ops etc. are “crazy.” He says that they are portrayed as weirdos and crazy, especially by girls. The kids in the classrooms often pretend to shoot at each other during the classroom, which rouses some snickers that are hidden behind desks.

So the people who play these games are very influenced, whether they notice it or not.

Now, let’s get to more serious situations where this comes into play. In the 21st century sometime, in Orlando, a boy from High School turned into a very depressed person. He used to be a normal boy, but he seemed to go autistic, even unpredictable. The reason was video games. He was reported always playing video games, and was influenced by them. It may seem crazy, but he was the cause of one of the most devastating school tragedies ever.

He came to school armed. He stayed with his machine gun, which he illegally got through gang trades, in his locker. Then, he grabbed his weapon and opened fired on the classroom. People came in to see the commotion, but he killed them. The cops began to come to him, so he was panicked. He raised the gun for one last spray of bullets, and then shot himself before the police could get to him.

In this tragedy, 40 innocent people, children and teachers, were shot and killed.

This boy was influenced by violent video games. And the result was a funeral.

Lol it’s not just call of duty but many types of media being exposed to children mainly can have a negative affect on them, cartoons for example may have a show with real life impossible things like being able to survive explosions. It’s up to the parents to either not allow them to that content or teach them that unlike in that content, its not the same as in real life.
