This is a rock song I wrote when I was nineteen about a couple friends of mine’s rocky relationship, which lead to a very happy marriage for going on 38 years now.
Verse One
I called you on the telephone every night,
Wanting you to come home,
But all you wanted to do was fight,
All I wanted to know is what I did wrong.
Verse Two
You said our love shouldn’t be,
But baby you know thats not right,
You know I don’t want you to leave,
I need you to hold tight.
Chorus
So baby please,
Please don’t leave,
Don’t let it end this way,
Just tell me that you’ll stay,
Please baby don’t leave
Verse Three
I see you have your suitcase in hand,
Are you comin’ back to love this man,
Tell me one more time,
That your back again to let in the sunshine.
Repeat chorus
Repeat last verse and fade.
