In every story, there is a beginning that must have an ending. No matter how it ends…it must end.

It was quite a night. The whole place was lit by small colorful dancing lights and a huge spotlight giving more focus on the performer on stage. The waiter came rushing. “I think she’s here,” she told him with a grin.

And there he tip toed behind the bar’s entrance.  Hoping not see a person he is not supposed to see. And he gently walked in. “Whew, good thing she isn’t here,” he told himself. He set up his guitar and prepared to start the gig. To his surprise, he saw her sitting there at the corner!

He then felt warm and started sweating. She’s a stalking him. That’s what he thought. But why in the world would a musician get so bothered about a woman like her? It’s a public place and she’s a customer. In short, there is no problem seeing her there drinking alone.

“Look at him. He still looks exactly the same. I will soon forget you but not your music,” she told herself with a sigh. She can still hear him say to her, DON’T MOVE ON, LET GO! Yeah, right. He is absolutely right.

He then started strumming his guitar. He can’t stop himself from giving her a glance once in a while. She was there drinking silently and she seemed to enjoy her time, alone. He felt a throb in his heart. She used to be with someone, someone who pours her a drink and light her cigarette. But there she is. She kills the time not minding the people around.

“His lovely melody filled the whole room. Everyone is attentively listening to him play.

“I’ll take a very short break and be back for the second set. Thank you!” Everyone clapped and he went down the stage. He went to a table reserved for him and had a drink with some friends.  His eyes went around, looking for someone. She’s no longer there.

“Hi!” it was a voice from a woman, a very familiar voice.  It’s her! And before he could even talk, a guy from the table next to theirs replied the greetings.

“Hi! Did I keep you waiting?, he asked while sweetly smiling at her.

“No, not at all. You’re just right in time”, she replied.

“Shall we? The guy asked. She nodded and they left right away.

While walking away, she saw him watching them leave. “Thanks for the memories. Thanks to you, I got him.” She murmured.

“Did I hear you say something, honey?” her boyfriend asked.

“No. I just said thank you for loving me”, she then held the guy’s hand. He kissed her on the forehead as a reply.

He freaked out with the scene he just saw. He didn’t realized how long he had been staring at the couple behind him. He kept watching until they were gone. He felt the throb again. It’s more painful this time.

He drank up his beer. It stings. Mixed emotion rushed in. “If only I could turn back the time,” he thought.
