Your dreams can turn your life around.
Dreams are an extention of your everyday life that can be instrumental in your overall perception of yourself, others, and the world around you.
Yes it’s true, dreams are an extention of your everyday life and they can turn your life around.
According to the dictionary, a dream is a series of thoughts, images and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep.
The old addage ‘Sleep on it’, is definitely something to think about. Whenever you have a problem that needs solving, chances are you will say “I’ll sleep on it”, and the solution will come in your dreams.
I know this to be so because I have not only solved my own problems over the course of time in my life, but also for others by analysing dreams.
Dreams not only help with problem solving, they can also show how to deal with life’s circumstances, to recognize opportunities that may otherwise be missed and sometimes give information about good fortune comming to you or warn you of impending dangers and how to take evasive action to avoid them.
There are numerous mentions of dreams in the bible.
Joseph was told by an angel in a dream not to be afraid to take Mary, the mother of Jesus, to be his wife. And then again, was warned in a dream to take Mary and the infant Jesus to Egypt to escape Herod’s wrath.
In the Old Testament, Joseph with the coat of many colors, dreamed that he would oneday be great which caused his brothers much concern. So much so, that they sold him into slavery and told their father Jacob that he was dead. Latter we know, that because of a dream that Pharaoh had and which Joseph had told the meaning of it, Pharaoh gave Joseph all command over his household and all authority over Egypt and saved Egypt and not to forget, his brothers from famine.
Since the dawning of time, many cultures have believed in the power of dreams.
The Australian Indigenous people and the Native American Indian are amoung the many – too many to mention here.
Think about the Dream Catcher. No self-respecting American Indian would dare not have a Dream Catcher, and indeed they would their ask dreams to help solve any problems they might be experiencing.
And what about the story tellers?
Many of the wonderful children’s stories that the Danish born writer and poet, Hans Christian Andersen wrote came from dreams.
These are but a few examples of how dreams can influence our lives and I’m sure that those who are inclined to research the subject will discover more.
The trick however, is how to analyze your dreams to extract the information in order to get the best results.
For those who claim that they do not dream, that is not true.
Everybody dreams. Even the animals dream. People who say they do not dream it’s more of a point that they do not remember them.
For those who do remember but forget much of the detail, it is a good idea to keep a diary by your bedside to record your dreams and when you awake or as soon as possible because much of the detail will surface and you will be able to scrutanize your dreams and unravel their mysteries. Also remember that as you analyze your dreams keep a record of your thoughts and feelings relating to that particular dream about experiences relevent of the past and present events and the people in your life, as this will help give you an insight into the future that is instore for you.
Your problem solving and your life will take a turn for the better as you acquire a greater understanding of yourself, others, life and the world around you.
DREAMS – IF ONLY
If only I could take a picture
Of the visions
That come to me
In dreams -
Visions of other realities
That my waking mind
Does not see -
The everyday realities
That are an extention of me.
It is a pity that we can not take a snapshot of our dreams. Just imagine the wonder they would reveal.
But then, who knows, sometime in the future, someone in the scientific world will discover how to do just that.
Now that would be awesome!
In the meantime, until you become the master of your dreams -
Keep dreaming and may all your dreams be sweet and pleasant!
