Mumbai  Residents will not have a good start at the next financial year if BEST has its own decision to increase its income from electricity tariff by 3.75% in the year 2010-11.

The Electricity bills would increase to a tariff hike of 25-40%. Consumers utilising 101- 300 units pay Rs. 3.70  per unit which would now increase to 4.60 and 5.20.The hike would be more for consumers consuming more than 500 units.

We should either utilise less electricity or be ready to face the dreadful hike in the BEST bills.

Life without electricity in Mumbai is impossible. We have our major equipments working on it- AC, Fridge, Washing machines,Television,Computers, Cd Systems, Projector,LCD, etc,etc and the effect of increase in BEST bills would definitely leave us with a second thought of reducing our consumption. Mumbai which is the capital city of Maharashtra and commercial capital of India cannot go without electricity.
