Eminem died today.  Again.  It’s the second time in this young year he has.  Last year, Eminem died on at least four occasions.  Always the same way, too; a car wreck.  The guy has to be feeling like Bill Murray in Groundhog day at this point.  Perhaps this is the way we truly celebrate our celebrities in America now; by pretending they die every few months or so.  It’s happened with a number of A list stars, as well as a long list of others.  But for some reason, Eminem seems to have died far more than anyone else.

     Not that I’m complaining; this article  [Rapper Eminem Dead at Age 36], which ironically isn’t about Eminem being dead at all, goes crazy every time it happens.  If this flurry can keep up tomorrow, it will go over the half million views mark.  But it has made me wonder.  Why in the hell do we keep trying to kill poor old Marshall? 

     Sure, he’s a big star… but there are bigger.  And it would appear that there are as many Eminem haters as there are Eminem fans.  But there are plenty of celebrities that are hated equally.  Tiger Woods is pretty unpopular right now; We’ve got him humping everything from porn stars to men, and it seems like everyone thinks he sucks right now.  But you don’t see Tiger Woods dead on the Google hot list every few weeks.

     You kind of have to feel bad for good ‘ole Marshall; if he does kick the bucket one of these days, no one’s going to care.  Hell, he does it twice a month.

     But the biggest mystery is why the internet community continues to fall for it time after time.  Come on, people.  We’ve been doing this since 2002.  But again, I’m not complaining.  Every time someone looks to see if it’s real this time….

     So I’ll see you all again next month, when Eminem dies…. again.
