Every week I hear about a new proposed wind farm and within a day people are protesting against it, saying they would ruin the landscape and cause a noise nuisance.

A few months ago I went to an old pit village and as I approached I saw some turbines in a field opposite. I stopped the car in a safe place nearby and opened my window. I heard nothing yet they were moving.

I can see the argument that they are an eye-saw but I believe their benefits outweigh this.

We need to start thinking about renewable energy and should all look at using a supplier who uses these sources for their supply. We should also look into individual options like fitting a solar panel or small turbine to our houses to create our own energy and possibly selling excess energy to the national grid.

Global warming is real and we all should do our bit to help to change its course and slow it down.
