When I first heard of “Post By Email” option I became very happy because I am not satisfied with the post box of websites or blogs while publishing pages or posts. I Always save a document in my computer before posting it at any place. You also are familiar that when you copy paste any text in the post box then, all the fonts  text, size, bold headlines, etc., Of your original text became vanished and your text get just flat.

Then again you need to use the editor  to reshape your text and headlines. So on hearing the “Post By Email” option it was like a freedom and a kind of relaxation. I read all about “Post By Email” in order to learn it completely and to gain benefit out of this great feature, now when I  have experienced it myself, I am sharing it with you for your convenience.

Please remember this guide is only for word press.com and by word press.com,  I  mean those who  are using a free blog including free hosting services as well , those who are using paid hosting services the steps can be slightly different, but obviously they can also have  the basic idea.

Step I -   Go to Settings and click writing, when the page will open you can clearly see “Post By Email” option. There you will see two links Post by Email and My Blogs.

Step2-    You can publish posts through  emails with the help of  “Post  By Email” feature. To enable this option first you need to   click on  My Blogs   and create a secret address.

Step 3 -   Now when you have clicked My Blogs link, Another page opens and you can see   enable “Post By Email” option. If you have multiple blogs, then be careful  that you have enabled “Post  By Email” option in the right blog. The moment you click on enable you will be provided by with a secret email  address. Just save it  in your computer somewhere and don’t tell anybody about it.

Step 4- When you click on “Post By Email” option a tutorial page will open, very simple instructions just follow them to  complete the remaining parts of “Post By Email” option on your blog.

The above-mentioned tutorial page  is a perfect detailed tutorial, but you can stuck at one place as I was, when I had enabled the “Post By Email” option I sent  a test post and wow amazing the post was published right  there at my blog, but I didn’t know at that time how to select categories and tags etc., though it was clearly mentioned in that tutorial. But I was stuck how to embed these codes  for selecting category, tags, slugs and other things in the email.

After so much time wasting, I decided to just gave it a try and I again write a post (is it a crush or serious affair) in my email, then at the end of post I just  write [category about me], and voila the post was there exactly in the same category.

Even you can add tags, zemanta in fact each and everything with more convenience if you enable “Post By Email” option  in your blogs.

 Other Things To Remember

There is also another great option i.e., you can choose to publish the post immediately or can select the delay post option.

When you will enable the “Post  By Email” option another option under Settings option will appear  i.e., “Email Post Changes” you can also click it and save changes according to your convenience.
