I did this for our Speech Class. If ever my teacher sees this, I would just say that I just posted it to help people in their speeches.

Good Morning, (name of teacher) and fellow classmates, I am _Name_. I would like to begin with a background of my clique. My clique can be associated with the word “OTAKU”. Otakus are people who are interested in a pop culture, specifically, Japanese culture. In our clique, we speak a little bit of Japanese, write in Japanese calligraphy, sing Japanese songs and watch the same animes. I also would like to associate my experience with my clique to the quote of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, which is, “If you judge a person, you have no time to love them.” That experience had to make me hide the truth.  So, why do I say that hiding the truth is better than losing a clique. That is because having a clique has many benefits. Its first major benefit is to gain or know different kinds of information. The second major benefit is that you gain more friends and it teaches you to love more people, unlike having only your integrity that can ruin your whole personality. Take for example the Fable of The lion with Bad breath. The lion asked them, the sheep and wolf, the truth if he had bad breath. They told him that he did, but then he ate them. Then a fox passed by, the lion asked the fox the question. The fox pretended that she cannot smell a thing because of colds and she survived the lion’s wrath.

Moving on, the first major benefit that is gaining or knowing different kinds of information. By being knowledgeable, we can think of creative ways to survive in our daily lives. It also improve and make our lives easier. In addition, by gaining information, we can go with the flow. Take for example, in real life; there are instances where your clique can only speak in English. Then you should say that you are a Filipino and can only speak in Tagalog or to be close-minded. If you would, then no information is gained and would not understand each other. I once had an experience like this, and then I learned to be open-minded. Another example is from the story Othello: Iago has always been ahead of his agenda because of the information he gains from the people around him.

The second major benefit of having a clique is to gain more friends and love more people. There is a saying that goes, “Loving them is equal to understanding them.” According to our CLE discussion, one of the few things people hunger for is the understanding of other people. Also in the Bible it says to love your enemies you should forgive them 777 times. For example, you and your clique were stranded on the way to the province. One of them forgot her packed lunch. You all know that she is the most loathsome person and can only eat vegetables. You tried to understand that she was really hunger and gave her half of your share, which she gladly accepted. Now, you just learned to make friends and love your enemies by setting aside the truth that you hate them.

To summarize, the benefits of having a clique, is by gaining different kinds of information, to love more people, gain more friends and not risk to ruin your personality.
