Everywhere people have been talking about swine flu virus. I must say the outbreak of that virus is serious and everyone should take precaution against it. In the beginning of this month I was quite careful about it, yet I could not keep the mumps virus away.

It all started from my swollen wisdom tooth problem. It left me with severe pain and sensitive gum. Perhaps, this sensitivity kept me more vulnerable to other viruses. But I am not really sure. All I knew was that due to wisdom tooth pain I could not eat anything and thus I was starving. Meanwhile, I kept going to my university where in the hallway I stumbled upon unknown people who walked next to me, in front of so forth and me. I suppose one of those people was infected with the mumps virus and thus granted me the unfortunate honor to carry a bit with me, for I was already weak. 

The whole Thanksgiving week turned into Halloween. My face was distorted with the blown up gland and my mate became the abusive fever. I was more in pain and more starving. And this is because the gland was severely swollen. It almost felt like a balloon whose air pressure was increasing and thus it would burst just anytime. I could no longer go on.  My growling stomach compelled me to seek refuge in soup, but even this turned out to be a nightmare. I found myself throwing up! In the midst of this tempest all I could do was to pray to God so he would bestow some mercy on me.

After nine days of struggle I finally began to see the dawn. My gland was healing. But it was not much of a happy ending. Breaking news soon followed according to which my little sister suddenly fell victim of the virus I was carrying.
