Family History Information in India.
From the record search I have done at http://www.familysearch.org I have found the India Marriages 1792-1848 of the marrige of my great grand father George Thomas Saviel who was married to Sophia Mary Morley b. 1838 (age 15) the daughter of William Morley on the 10th of January 1853 at Calcuttta,West Bengal, India. He was married 2nd to Rose Hnin Si b.1885. in 1873 Burma and have three childern all born in Burma. Their childern were Lilly Saviel b.1874-, Edwin David Saviel b.1876-1961, and Annie Lucy Saviel,b. 1878-.
George Thomas Saviel was born in India and came from Europe.He worked for the Indian Public Works Department in India and Burma as a Clerk,Accountant and Engineer from 1841-1888. In 1841 he work for Lord William Benitdick Steamer as a Clerk and he work for the Nerbudda Steamer also as a Clerk in 1847. He was appointed to the Public Works Department as an Accountant,3rd Grade in October 1861. He had 26 years 3 months service and he retired in June 1888 and went to Payathonze Village,Pegu,Burma to live . He married Daw Rose Hnin Si at the American Baptist Mission Church in Thonze, Burma in 1873.
His son my grandfather Edwin David Savielwas married to Daw Hmyin in Thonze Burma in 1903 and they have 9 childern all born in Burma from 1905-1932. They are George Saviel,Sunny James Saviel, MavisMay Saviel, Doris Hazel Saviel, Fred Rolan Saviel, William Joseph Saviel (my father) , Harold Saviel, Bertram Henry Saviel and Douglas Saviel.
If anyone has any information on the SAVIEL family in Burma let me know and any information on my Great Grand Father George Thomas Saviel would be helpful to me .
