A new take on season six of the great series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Twilight Zone 2
Spike walked upstairs and went into he and Buffy’s room where the young mother to be was sitting on their bed. Buffy looked at Spike like the vampire had lost his mind. Then the look got worse when Spike walked over to the windowsill and sat on it. “So,” Buffy said angrily. “Where is it?”
Spike thought about it for a second then wondered what the hell she was talking about. He was about to open his mouth when Dawn knocked on the door. After Buffy told her to come in, Dawn brought in a handful of items and placed them on Buffy’s nightstand, except for the cucumber baby balm, which she handed to Spike.
When Dawn left, Spike went over to Buffy and sat on the edge of the bed. He pulled up her shirt to reveal her large belly then opened the jar of cucumber baby balm and began to apply it.
Buffy watched Spike as he rubbed the ointment on her tummy. She was waiting for him to say something, but he didn’t. She knew something was wrong; he wasn’t making eye contact with her. “Spike, what’s wrong?”
Spike slid his hand under her skirt and applied the ointment to her thighs and the back of her knees. He let the words slip carelessly out of his mouth “we’ve got to talk”.
Buffy nodded her head. She thought she knew what he was going to say, so she spoke thinking to explain herself first. “I know you were just kidding about the Dru thing. I just kinda get all bent out of shape for stupid things lately. It’s like I can’t even help it.”
“No,” Spike said stopping briefly then continuing to apply the ointment on the other leg. “That’s not what I meant.” Spike didn’t look at Buffy. He was concentrating on applying the baby balm, massaging into the slayer’s skin. “Though, I will admit it hurt about the baby names and all that.”
“I told them we hadn’t discussed it yet,” Buffy said in her defense. “You’re right, Jim was a real moron. Scary caveman breeder.”
