Fascination.

·                     Compares the image of the woman to that of a sun and that sun is feminine and women should shine like a sun.

·                     Middle class professional women are ignored in feminist literature, despite their significant achievements.

·                     The stereotypical image of a Muslim woman with a veil.

·                     The perception that woman are passive and victimized because of their veils

·                     The image is created and known everywhere around the world.

·                     She critics this and says that women who are in veils are not victimized-For example in Iran many women hold important parliamentary positions but they veil themselves. This is because for them the viel is a symbol for power and they are determined to fulfill promises of ‘gender parity’

·                     This image of veil and victimization is also constantly reinforced through the media it is said that the veils create a passive image of Muslim woman, robbing them of their humanity. This perception should be changed and there should be equality.

·                     Edward Saeed (Orientalism) points out the differences between the West and the East (other)- He says that if West is considered to be different from the East completely then how can Western and Eastern professional women are the same. Here she shows how the symbol of veil and victimization itself is a product created by the West itself.
