Please feel free to take this poll, concerning turning to God in difficult times.

Feedback Wanted: Godly Poll

To anyone who wants to take a little poll about the world today. I wanted to see how others felt about turning to God in difficult times. Thanks for your feedback.

  1. Do you think this is one of the most difficult times America has ever been in?
  2. Do you see hope for our future?
  3. Do you think turning to God will help you personally?
  4. Do you think more people are going to church now, or turning away from church?
  5. Do you think people are praying more? (not turning to church, yet praying on their own?)
  6. Do you see people turning against God? (in these times?)
  7. Do you think there is anything anyone can do to help in these times?

    1. Yes. Other threats were only physical.
    2. Yes. For those who turn to Jesus.
    3. Yes. He has helped me so much. Actually, He has done everything.
    4. Turning away. When the Word is not preached, everyone hungers.
    5. I think that most people are whining not praying. They are telling God how to run things.
    6. Turning against. No patience.
    7. Only God can help. If His People will humble themselves and call upon Him.

    excellent poll

I was going to respond but I’m not sure what period of time you are considering in your questions 4 & 5. Now as compared to when, a year ago, a decade ago, 100 years ago?

The first 3 I can say yes. #6. I am seeing more people turning to God around me not away. Not great in numbers but in true transformation. #7 We can be the body of Christ as we were meant to be. His physical life lived out here on earth, demonstrating His love, his power and his truth in all we do.

    1. I’m Canadian, but we’re pretty much in the same boat. Yes, I think that the western world has been living beyond its means and thumbing their proverbial noses at God for long enough. A selfish, decadent society is doomed to fail.
2.I’m not sure I know who you mean by “we” – we Christians have hope, but I think we’ll have some tough times first. Americans as a super power? I think not. It’s pretty clear from Revelation that at the end, Babylon will rise again.
    3.Yes, most definitely!
    4. That’s hard to say – I have seen many who I thought were believers turning away.
    5. I see a rise in people who try to practice a solo Christianity, more of a mystism, who rail against “organized religion.
    6. Judging from my comments here at Triond, there are many who are following God, but there are many “squeaky wheels” who are seeking attention by their bravado against God.
    7. I see a polarization of Christians and nonChristians. The fence sitters seem to be siding with the nonChristians because of issues like homosexuality & abortion. Fence sitters are seeing Christians as intolerant, even hateful, and Satan is collecting them as they fall off the fence.

    1. Yes, without any doubt in my mind. Seeing America fall to a secular liberal society is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. hough I’m only 16 lol. Our foundinf fathers were all strong Christians and they built this country in a way that it cannot stand without Christian values. If Triond ever publishes my article America Today and The Solution to America’s Problems, you’ll see what I mean more clearly.
    2. There is always hope, but whether or not that hope turns into a reality lies in our hands.
    3. A resounding yes. I had started to stray in my life recently, but when you come back into the presence of the Lord, his forgiveness and mercy is undeniably welcome.
    4. Turning away. The people of God, few of us that there are left, are not doing our job. We turned to politics in the last 25 years instead of following The Great Commission and making disciples of Christ.
    5. People within the churches that truly follow God’s word, yes, they realize the desperate times. People outside of those, no.
    6. Yes. Just take a look at some of the articles posted by Triond users. It’s a sad world.
    7. We all need to turn back to what Jesus told us to do before he ascended into Heaven. Make disciples fo him. Keep in mind he didn’t say converts, but disciples.

i will adress #4. Yes, More people are still running from the church. The mega churches seem to have an increase in membership and i think its only because poeple need are attracted to the gospel of prosperity in these trying economic time.
