The cleansing destructiveness of fire.

Smiling, laughing, dancing, throwing shadows against the wall.
He gave this gift to us… Playful little thing, until it grows, generating energy,
running rampant, hungry consuming everything in sight.

Once it starts, it must finish the path, run the full course.
And then, return to it’s playful self, smiling, laughing, dancing.
Cleansing in its’ destruction.. shadows against the wall.
The gift He gave, warm and beautiful, destructive but, beneficial to us all.

This was inspired by a picture. Little did I know that I would almost regret it
when the fires ran rampant through California. In the context that it is written
and viewing the picture that inspired it, fire would be considered something beautiful,
playful, cleansing but also destructive.

My heart goes out to those that lost everything, we are about twenty miles from
Running Springs, and there was always a sense of urgency, because fire is so unpredictable.
