I am going for vacations to my Homeland, India. I shall try my best to write these kind of articles everyday, so I do hope you enjoy!

Day 1

I decided to go to school because I had some unfinished work and there were a few things which I had to tell a few people. Surprisingly, one very smart person had already figured what I had to say. Small instances like these, bunched together with a few large ones, are worth living the life we live.

Anyways, what I am going to write is not a philosophical article, so do continue reading this. From our family of four, two mothers had gone to India, leaving behind their two sons in Qatar. Today I and my father were leaving for India. Fortunately (later unfortunately), our flight was at such a time that we had to leave our home at Iftaar, when Muslims break their day’s fast during the month of Ramadan. So, the traffic on the road was less, much less.

We reached the airport and were shocked to see a huge crowd. They were all waiting in line to check in. this got me thinking, that most of the airports around the world now days have long ques. I have seen this myself. It occurred to me that this could because these airports today might be handling double or triple the passenger traffic that it was originally designed to handle. The reason for this huge crowd was because most of the staff had gone to break their fast.

We got through without any hassle and boarded our flight. As the flight took off I saw wonderful view of the most popular stretch in Qatar, Cornish, at night. The in-flight movies had “escape to victory” an old Sylvester Stallone film, which also starred Pele. I had been trying to watch this movie for the past 3 years, but was unable to find it anywhere, or at least anywhere safe enough. After finishing my dinner and the movie, I had a deep dreamy sleep. I was eventually woken up by the air−hostess because we would soon be landing in a city, which had been an important centre for various kingdoms for over 1000 years, Delhi.

In Delhi, the first thing that I would notice is the usual unhygienic feeling that would hit me, very dim street lights and a different smell, same as those on the streets outside. However, this time as I entered the new terminal, I was amazed. This was as lengthy as the one I had seen in Dubai. Its immigration section was of the standard I had seen in Singapore. And lastly, I saw the airport staff moving around on Sedgeways. The lighting, carpet and wall textures, designs are indeed comparable to the Dubai airport’s new terminal. The video below is a bit short as there can be restrictions on recording inside the airport.
