Source E is fairly accurate as we know that, in the countryside, there was no bombing and that the people there did “continues production.” This is accurate only of the countryside as the city life was quite different.

Source F is also quite accurate as it is a contemporary source. It tells us that people were afraid during the blitz and that they would “run madly for shelters.”  It is more accurate that source E as it is from a government report so would not been seen by the public, therefore would not be censored and since it was written by the ministry of information, this affirms its accuracy and makes it more valuable.

Source E is fairly incomplete. It only tells us about how little country life was affected by the Blitz and does not even mention city-life, which is where all the bombing took place. Therefore source F is more complete as it tells us about people wanting to leave the cities and how people were afraid and that they needed to go into shelters to be safer.

It is hard to tell whether source E is objective or not. It is from a book published in 1988 which describes how some people felt that it did not feel like a war. Its purpose is to inform people about another side of the war therefore may be slightly subjective.

Source F is more objective. It is a primary source, a government report written in 1944 that is meant to inform government members about events. It would be telling the truth as the government need to know exactly what was going on at the time therefore it is more objective than source E making it more valuable.

Overall source F is the most valuable to a historian as it is a very accurate source which is the most complete and also the most objective.
