Another writing challenge for myself today using three words: freedom, lace, and honeysuckle.
I challenged myself to another writing exercise today because I wanted to see if I could get my creativity flowing. The challenge was to choose three words and use them in an article or some type of creative writing. The three words I choose were: freedom, lace, and honeysuckle. What follows is the result.
As the scent of honeysuckle wafts through the air Fiona wonders how her life became such a mess. When she married Gary she was so optimistic and full of hope for a happy future. What Fiona has gotten in reality is a far cry from that. She has been on a mission for what seems like forever. What does she truly want? Will she ever find what she is seeking? Only time will tell. That which Fiona seeks seems so elusive, yet still she must keep trying.
As she removes her nightgown, the one trimmed in the delicate white lace, it dawns on her what she must do. After dressing herself carefully, she noiselessly descends the stairs and grabs the car keys off the stand in the entryway. Fiona heads out toward her car, the soft gray Mazda, and slides into the drivers seat. After starting the engine she apprehensively pulls out of the driveway. This feeling does not last long, however, for soon she realizes that this is the right choice. Perhaps what Fiona is looking for is just around the corner, she will never find it if she continues to live with all of the lies and false hopes that her marriage to Gary has given her. To gain freedom Fiona now realizes she must leave quickly, without looking back, and with no regrets.
