We all love this new convenience in our lives called the Internet. How much do we really know? How does the Internet affect our lives at the end of the day?

We do not have to stand in line anymore at the bank. Money can be transferred all over the world. Gone are the days of walking around with a wallet full of cash.If you get robbed nowadays, they don’t say “Give me your wallet or your cash”….. They say “Give me your cellphone and/or your car keys” ….HIJACK.

But a much greater danger exists on the Internet…..called IS (Internet Scam).

We get bombarded daily about winning this and that only to find out that you first have to relinquish some your hard earn cash in order to win (be scammed).

Lets do some quick thinking and some figures. I am a South African. Exchange rates are like 14 Rand for 1 Pound or 7 Rand for 1 Dollar etc.

Now…. lets say I have to pay 1750 Rand (125 Pounds) towards some tax clearance fee for them to release the money that I supposedly won in some British lottery. If a 1000 people across the world respond to this, some guy (scammer) will be sitting with 125000.00 Pounds in his bank account…. Easy money. Why can this money not be deducted from your winnings? How many poor souls have already fallen for that one. As long as we have Internet we will be attacked by these ruthless scammers. There are more thieves in this world now than ever. Unfortunately there are more gullible victims also.

How does one handle this?

I Say…. Just ignore them. What are the chances of you winning some lottery out of the blue that you have not entered for. We all know this… To win money it is going to cost you money. You do not pick up lottery tickets from the street, you have to buy them. We need to be careful…..
