Time it Takes to go to School
It takes my family to drive to school about 2 ½ minutes. We live about a mile away from the school and the speed limits are about 20 MPH. I usually get out of bed by 7:00 AM to take a shower and get ready for school. I leave my house at an average 7:42 and get to school by about 7:45. It only takes 2 ½ minutes to get to my school but it is still burning gas, which is money. And time is also a valuable thing to lose.
Money it Costs to go to School
It costs about $0.11 to get to school in my dad’s car. It is a Volvo S80 and it gets 17 MPG while traveling 20 MPH. The price of gas is about $1.95 and I am only traveling 1 mile to get up to school from my house. That means, that if I travel up to school 17 times, it will cost $1.95 traveling at 20 MPH. If I divide $1.95 by 17, then I should get $0.11, which I did. But my parents also have to travel back from school to our house, so I would double the $0.11 and get $0.22. That is how much it costs to take me to school and back.
Time it Takes to Eat a Sandwich
It takes me about 12 minutes to eat a ham and cheese sandwich. Since I take a bite out of the sandwich about every 20 seconds, and that bite eats about a thirty-sixth of the sandwich. I also may be watching TV so the time may very, but this is the time it takes to eat a sandwich sitting at a table. I have tested this more than twice, so I averaged out the data and got about this, but my actual answers are too specific for me to measure out. It takes 1 minute to make a ham and cheese sandwich, with only 1 piece of ham, 1 piece of cheese, and 2 pieces of bread. This is including the time it takes to get out the things, which are all placed next to each other in my house.
Money it Costs to Eat a Sandwich
It costs about $0.28 per sandwich, with one piece of cheese, one piece of ham, and two pieces of bread. It is about $3.50 to buy a block of cheese, that I measured could get about 100 slices off of it. I bought the ham for about $2.20, and it had 50-52 pieces of ham in it. The bread that we bought also only costs about $1. So if you add that out, $0.20 for bread, $0.04 for the ham, and $0.04 for the cheese. So I am using $0.28 to eat a ham and cheese sandwich that takes about 12 minutes to eat, and 1 minute to make.
