Joe Barnes is about to embark on his second year at Hogwarts. Dudley Dursley has been forced into coming to terms with his own daughter getting a letter. Vonnie Dursley hid her talents from her father as she was scared of what he would think of her, even though he and Harry Potter were now a lot closer and Harry Dursleys friend was a wizard he still had the attitude that he never wanted one of his own to be one.

Joe Barnes sat at a table in the Leaky Cauldron waiting for his friends. His father sat opposite him but his mother still had not fully come to terms with what Joe was. In fact Joe had hardly seen his mother over the past year. Joe looked up from the book he was reading when the door opened. ‘Harry!’ he exclaimed as his best friend walked in. ‘What are you doing here?’

‘Dad wouldn’t come.’ Harry replied as his sister moved out from behind him ‘James said they would meet us here so Vonnie could be with Lily. They got me permission to tag along.’ Harry finished as the door opened and the Potters and Weasleys walked in.

James looked around the room. Smiling he tuned back to his dad.

‘Go on then James. Just remember to meet back here at 4 as we’re all going to Dudleys after see if we can persuade him to see his daughter off when you all get the train.’ Harry Potter said to his son before turning to Joe. ‘Hi Joe.’

‘Hi Mr. Potter.’ Joe replied

‘You tagging along with us then? Your dad can come to.’

Joe looked over at his father who acknowledged Harry and started to walk over. ‘Joe you go off with your friends, I’d better be getting back to work. But I’ll come with you as far as the ministry entrance.’

They all said their hello’s then headed towards the Diagon Alley entrance together. James was already at the wall with Angela Dunn when the rest of them got there.

‘Jimmy’s got a girlfriend, Jimmy’s got a girlfriend.’ Chanted Lily as they approached the two teenagers.

James turned round and gave his sister a sinister look. ‘Wait until we get home.’ He said his hand gripping his wand

‘Now, Now you to’ their mom Ginny said her own wand ready to be drawn.

‘Sorry mom it was just a bit of fun.’ Lily replied an innocent yet cheeky look on her face.

‘OK but lets have no more of it.’

Ron Weasley had made his way to the keystone on the wall and pressed it in. The wall started folding in on itself revealing Diagon Alley beyond.
