Are gadgets these days just widening gap between people?
I am a fan of gagets and eventhough i cant afford most of them i just satiate by just looking at them.
I got my first mobile phone about 4 years back and it was a Nokia very basic model. I remember being very excited to have it the first time, now i will just throw up looking at it. Anyways gadgets have been integral part of our lives for some years now and most of just cant do without it. What is about them which make them so important to us. Todays gadgets have almost everything internet, games, phones everything.
Eventhough they have everything yet we feel so alone. Has the advent of these electronic communication media just taken away the soul of conversation. Why is that having andriods, iphones etc just killing away the talking and telephone have long now gone away from the main concept of talking. The main reason is that these gadgets just make you so self absolved that you start ignoring the fact upon which the whole telecom industry is based. A phone is for talking, catching up with your loved ones, calling friends and of course emergency but today mobile phone is all about facebook, some funky hi-res games, camera, music. Calling it a mobile phone these days will be a mistake because phone is just a less wanted accesory in such gadgets.
Main point is not just critising technology. Its the need, but its just that man is a social animal and he needs much much more than facebook, twitter to socialise. He still needs a real man/woman alongside him who will not just go offline when he/she is needed the most or become invisible when he/she chooses. I would request everyone who sees this to just take time and go meet friends for real rather than video chatting on your i phone 4. Because human relations are way deeper than any video chat will ever reach.
