A teenager’s veiws on gay marriage.

What is marriage? Originally, it was a binding under God(s) that brought two, or more together. But after some time it was controlled by the government. Which is completely understandable because the legal benefits it brings us. But people seem to have forgotten what marriage is truly. It’s a religious and personal way of saying “I want to be with you for the rest of my life.”

So when you think about it, is it really the government’s right to decide who can and can not get married? Is it no longer for love or beliefs? Is our soul purpose in marriage to seek out the legal rewards it reaps? I hope not, and I pray for humanity that you still believe in marriage for love not gain.

Granted, there are some times that the government does need to step in. When it comes to age, but only to protect the children. And, when it comes to country. However, only because of immigration laws. Gender should not decide rather or not someone is aloud to get married. In fact, isn’t telling someone no because of their sexuality violating discrimination laws? Isn’t the point of this country so that we could truly be free? How can we be if we are not aloud to love without discrimination?

If you personally/religiously do not agree with gay marriage I have a simple solution. Don’t go. What you can’t see can’t hurt you.

But then again, what do I know.
