Just this minute I received a text from my girlfriend. I got a little bit excited as I do only to find this ‘I don’t think this is going to work out. Sorry, it’s not like you’ve done anything wrong, but yeah… Sorry again, but yeah I can’t do this anymore’. 

Now this is not exactly what I was expecting to read. I was expecting a nice ‘how was your day?’ or an ‘I miss you.’, but no, a break up… by text message! I mean how impersonal is that. She didn’t even have the decency to tell me to my face, or at least give me a phone call. She didn’t even give me a real reason. I just can’t do this anymore. Wow, I don’t know what I did, but doesn’t that make me feel great.

Now, I’m not saying it was all bad I mean it didn’t come with that awkwardness a break up will usually have. And I didn’t even have to say anything. I didn’t know what to say, so I just said nothing. No reply. Done. That’s it. We’re over just like that. Ah, texting makes life so much easier.

So yeah, break up by text not all bad, but cowardly and impersonal. Not Recommended.
