It seems that ghosts just love to pester us while we are in the shower. Sometimes we hear them making a funny noise. Somtimes we see them out the corner of our eye. And sometimes we even feel them touching us!

Now I’m not saying those things did not happen. I just don’t think they were a ghost. Here’s why:

People say they see a ghosts white outline in the shower, or their shadow outside the shower curtain. The truth is that the white outline is nothing more than the steam from the hot water, and that the shadow is created from the curtains movement along with the light of the bathroom. The curtain usually moves from the water, but mostly flutters from air movements. That is why you are more likely to see a “ghost” shadow when you turn around, because you are creating some wind.

The hearing part is an easy one. When you are in the shower there is so much water noise going on that you don’t really no what is making what sound. It could be your foot screeching on the floor, some falling soap or shampoo glob, or even the water itself making some funny richocet that causes a weird noise.

When you feel a “ghost” in the shower, what you are feeling is actually things that are happening in the shower, caused by the shower, not a ghost. Most people get a cold chill on them, thinking it is a ghost. Well, once again that is caused by air movement in the shower. When you are wet you are more likely to feel the movement of the air; we all have experience this, stepping out of a pool or lake on a windy day.Also, some soap/shampoo combined with the water may run down your body at a weird angle and feel pretty strange.

 Well there you have it. Now you know why “ghosts” are in the shower.
