Now that I am a Multi-Millionaire, I don’t think I can do the job I have been doing with the quality expected of me, So I gave them my notice.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011 –

I made the hard decision today to give my notice at work. I thought I would be one of those people who would keep working even if they won the lottery. I guess this is one of those things that you never can tell till you are in the situation.

I wanted to be able to continue my job, but I was finding my work lacking in it’s normal standard. I was not providing the same kind of quality to my sales reps that I normally did. I was constantly distracted by the thought of money and what I was going to do with it.

I suppose the effect of having a lot of money would subside and I would be able to get back to the quality I was making before I came into 74 million dollars. There was just something about having to work hard hours for over-demanding people for very little pay that makes me just not want to do the job anymore.

So I stepped into my boss’ office when I got to work and laid down the situation for him. I told him that I felt I was not able to give him my best when there was so much on my mind; so much I could be doing to help other people. He understood and took my written resignation with two weeks notice. Then I went back to my desk and did my best to do the quality work I knew I was capable of.
