Glenn Beck Lashes Out At Elmo’s Marxist Ways

Glenn Beck is very mad…at Elmo. Apparently, Elmo is now part of a government conspiracy to redistribute all wealth in America! In yesterday’s newsletter, Glenn Beck wrote:

Elmo wants to redistribute wealth
Your government hard at work – they’ve enlisted the help of Elmo to push for redistributive change. The FCC is using children, saying all kids should be connected to the Internet and not that crappy dial up. Elmo says he’s tired of buffering, so he needs free broadband access!
No wonder Elmo is red…he’s…a Marxist!

Glenn Beck was referencing “The Benefits of the National Broadband Plan for Children and Families” event that took place on March 26, 2010. The event featured Elmo and FCC Chairman Genachowski chatting about the value of broadband infrastructure to an audience of families. The event wasn’t sinister, but part of a larger initiative to raise awareness about the significant broadband infrastructure upgrades that are taking place around the country.

Never mind that the event took place nearly 6 months ago and Glenn Beck hasn’t made a peep about it until now.

Never mind that the blurb in his newsletter lacks context and substance. And, the charge is so unbearably false that I’m surprised his keyboard didn’t call him out on the lie as he was typing it.

What I want to know is if Elmo is such a marxist, then why did Glenn Beck channel elmo back in May to ask ‘whose hand is up President Obama’s ass?’
