Teenagers: How are they supposed to feel?

I have been thinking a lot about life lately, specifically teenage life.
Teen-hood is the time between child-hood and adult-hood. Being a teenager can be nice because you have more freedom than a child, and less responsibility than an adult.
The thing about teenagers is that we either never want to grow up, or we are in a rush to grow up. The teens that never want to grow up do whatever they want and never think about the consequences. The teens that want to grow up make life more difficult than it needs to be. They create difficult situations that are completely unnecessary.
We want to grow up, but we want to be care free. If we care too much we will be miserable, and if we are completely care free then we will do whatever and not think about the consiquences of our actions.
It’s like The Catcher In The Rye: if you are in the field of rye, you are a child and if you fall off the edge of the cliff you are an adult, and the teenagers stay at the very edge of the cliff not playing in the rye because they are too busy concentrating on not falling off the cliff.

As for me…. I just want to live.
