Organizing values should also benefit future generations.
Now here is the sometimes confusing interconnection. Wisdom is supreme. But in order to gain it, knowledge should be acquired through discipline, patience, diligence, and a desire for the truth. Without accurate knowlege, wisdom can be as good as a hunch or gut feel. This does not refer to any kind of gathering information and learning what they mean, because it should be limited to the truth. Moreover, gaining of knowledge presupposes a kind of humility of the mind. One must admit not having some facts in order to make good decisions with regards to certain topics, in order to be willing to take the time to gather some knowledge about those things he does not know about. There should be an attitude from within that will allow for learning on an ongoing basis, regardless of whether or not the brain already has absorbed substantial information about other things. Without that favorable attitude in life, there will be a tendency to simply live life by trial and error, correct mistakes as they happen, forget about having to desire for more knowledge. This can be very time consuming and costly. Mistakes of previous generations can turn out to be overlooked and repeated, leading to high probability of failure due to lack of experiences.
Where then is the starting point of attaining righteousness ? How can a person speak of what is right if, from the very start, he does not even know what it is all about ? It should start with faith.
From the time a person is born to the time he learns something, he has parents or guardians who can guide him to live a life based on certain rules that will allow him to live in peace, freedom, and hope. His first simple goal is to believe in his parents or guardians, to trust in their words, to obey, and to behave according to some understanding of what are right things to do and what are wrong. As the knowledge grows with time, education can inculcate more truth capable of making that person behave the way he should think and behave. It is then a matter of time when traits will become built in and knowledge will translate to wisdom. One other important advantage is the knowledge about prayers and meditation. Of course, there are those who do not have a God to worship and those who worship a different god. They pray in a different way. They speak to people about what should be and appeal to the understanding of what people believe to be right. They say they do not believe in a God but they believe in righteousness and the truth, education, laws, love, responsibilities. Those who believe in God believe in the same things except for the persons in history who represent all that which they believe in.
