In a family, the children’s development is obviously the responsibility of parents and educators in school. What about for a society or nation ? People select their leaders hoping to be guided towards a better future for the greater majority, if not for ALL members of society. The problem may be that people are not adequately informed about what should be their basis for identifying who are good leaders and who are not. Or people simply do not bother to find out because they have very immediate and more pressing problems to deal with each day. They see no clear benefit in even thinking long enough about such topics.But are they not supposed to be with corresponding guardians who influence them to be who they are and to do what they are supposed to do ? There are influential CHARACTERS ( good or bad ) within each community and groups within the community who can sway members to decide on who should be elected leaders. A wrong choice of leaders can therefore be the primary responsibility of those CHARACTERS who misguide the people for whatever reason — be it for monetary returns or vested interests, lack of research, false information, etc. etc.

The church leaders are expected to enlighten the people about the right spiritual values to uphold. Although they should not judge except if there is adequate truth as basis for judging people, they can have a better awareness of believers and their practices. Civic organizations and their officials can be guided to determine who deserves to tackle higher responsibilities for the welfare of other people and who should not be supported. Political organizations as well as business enterprises evidently participate. Unfortunately, because of the power of money and bribery, minds can be corrupted; deception and manipulations bring about the rise of evil empires.

When the irresponsible leaders are entrusted with the resources that are intended for the good of the majority, a society degenerates to their level of character. A government can become a culture of thieves out to propagate a society of rebellious people, crowded with injustices.

Just as in a family wherein the head decides to support the wicked or crooked character, a society can turnover to the next generation a sick begining, a beleaguered culture in need of massive overhaul and revolutionary changes. This can happen unless the righteous overcomes the effects of bad decisions. For we have another force that can make the difference. It is beyond reason because no eyes can see, no hands can touch the spiritual forces behind and ahead of mankind.

Leadership identifies the direction that should be taken. Those not destined for it are bound to fall into the pit of darkness and endless troubles, whereas the righteous will discover light and be able to guide people to see the light of life. Those who have been successfully molded to be good characters naturally follow the way of truth. This is not the case for the wicked deep within, They will keep people deceived in order to satisfy their worthless, selfish desires. And because the righteous believe and uphold the truth, they base their identification of directions on facts, realities, consultations, research over what people ought to have and not what leaders themselves and their own families will enjoy.

Leaders build the organizations that can make things happen, changing lives for towards a much better future. In contrast, fake leaders who won their posts through deception and ill-gotten wealth, are certainly stuck with protecting their own vested interests, their love for power, wealth, and convenience even at the expense of the future generation and the greater majority.
