On March 2, 2005, Danny was born. He passed away from SUDEP in mid December of this last year. On his birthday, just under 7000 on "The Danny Did Foundation" Facebook page celebrated his life. We join his family on their mission to protect others from losing their child the same way. And in this little boy’s name, we push ourselves to find something GOOD here in the empty space of loss that we feel for those who loved Danny most of all.

Happy, Happy Birthday, Danny. I didn’t know you when you were here, but I know you now. So do about 7000 people on your Facebook Page, The Danny Did Foundation. Yeah, Danny, that’s a lot of people. And, it happend in less than 2 months.
Your family is missing you, little guy. They’re trying to celebrate your life, but without you here, it feels hard to do that. Feeling you here in spirit and not seeing you in person takes some getting used to, Danny. The people who love you most of all are having an especially hard time with that. It’s even hard for me, and like I said, I didn’t even know you.
The Danny Did Foundation is going to accomplish so much in your name. And, that’s a great thing, Danny. You have fans from all over the world who hug life a little harder because YOU DID that. What your parents are doing is making a huge difference. There’s a lot of love all over this planet for you, Danny. More people know you than will ever know me. I’m proud to be one of them.
But, the truth of the matter is that there is no accomplishment big enough to make you not being here worth it. Even a cure for Epilepsy in your name doesn’t come close. It can’t, Danny. Nothing can or will ever compare to having you here. Nothing. And, that makes the progress on this journey to greatly reduce deaths from SUDEP really hard to reconcile sometimes. The loss of you is attached to this progress. If you were still here, The Danny Did Foundation wouldn’t be. No matter what happens now or in the future, or how much good is done in your name, your Mom and Dad, Mary Grace, Johnny, Tommy and all the friends and family who loved you in your four years here, will always wish that you were STILL here…instead.
So, we need your help, Danny.
Help us to NOT compare your life to anything that is accomplished in your name as we look for purpose and reason. The accomplishments will fall so short and won’t end up FEELING like accomplishments if we compare them to having you here.
