Birthday’s are fun! Everyday is someones birthday. Where did birthdays come from? The history of birhtdays is from before Christianity when pagan believed to celebrate with many people to chase the evil spirits away that were thought to be present on birhtdays. Presents were sometimes given and it was a special honor to receive a present. Greeks brought candle lit cakes to honor Artemis and Germans were the first to put candles on birthday cakes, wish making on your special birthday cake and kinderdest.  Birthday cards began in England in the 1870s and till today are a big part of birthdays. All over the world birthdays are celebrated too! Remember the song we sang as children “Happy Birthday To You”? We as children sang it a whole lot till we grew up. There is a history to the song that originally were from the music the Hill sisters first composed and they sued and won the case. Today royalties go to the Hill Foundation and Summy Birchard.
