A short anecdote on being hasty.
You have two weeks to finish this project,” said our Social Studies teacher. Two weeks, that was enough time to present an A paper. The first few days, I worked on getting the information for my paper. But after a while it totally slipped out of my mind that I had a paper to work on.
As the days went by, I thought of doing the paper but the thought was overshadowed by other responsibilities and homework.
That was one week gone by, without anything done. Well, I knew I could still get it done. Each day that came, I would say I’d do the next day. And so that’s what happened for the next three day. From Monday, I said I’d do it on Tuesday. Tuesday to Wednesday and Wednesday to Thursday. Thursday finally came, and that’s when I realized that I had just one night to when the paper was due.
With the little information I had gathered 2 weeks ago, I quickly worked on in. I locked myself in my room and refused to come out till it was done. I quickly I wrote of bunch of sentences and when I had nothing left to write, I was done.
The next day I turned it in a two page paper. Hoping and praying for it to turn out well. The following Monday, we got our grades bad. Behold I got a C-.
That’s the first C in the whole year. I couldn’t believe it. It was my fault, I procrastinated. That’s a very bad habit of mine. I guess the old saying is true, hast makes waste.
