A lesson from the Triond experience.
This article is dedicated to give a stand to Triond writers complaining of problems met on this site. I had been here for the last 10 months as of this writing and despite other sites I’ve joined in, it’s only here where I have focused much of my writings. So far, here were the things I have noticed and I wish to share.
Posting with the essence of Time. This concern submissions of articles with relation to an event in history. You will be thinking that a certain topic will gain more readership because it is the anniversary of something, a tragic disaster, a celebrity’s death anniversary, etc. Well I have tried it 3-4 times and I supposed only one got published on time. So if you still persist, be patient.
Keeping up with the quota. As everyone could see, I have religiously kept up with my quota of an article a day. The thing is like in road traffic, if you go faster, the traffic enforcer will slow you down. How this happens on Triond? When you get articles published daily on a regular basis, your views will increase (as for me it does so long as I return back comments). This means your daily earnings will get perked up as your viewers increase. This will ultimately be a disadvantage to Triond so guess what happens. One or two of your articles will be on pending for a day or two then your daily views will dive again to the low point. Hmmmnn, what could I say. When that happens, be patient.
The hot content dilemma. Some say it’s all about tags, the correct titles which give a ring to most ears, promoting your articles through twitter, facebook, digg, etc. I supposed I have done a lot thinking to get a post done than to get another time extension doing it. I have an 8 hour regular job so I couldn’t do the promotion scheme as others do. I would like just to write something straight from my heart and if it hits a chord to make it hot, that’s it. What is more, I am the type who couldn’t promise heaven to my readers just by reading my article. I just get embarrassed when I seem to have come up with something catchy only to be posted in an inappropriate site which is not comment friendly thus I get deprived to be on the hot content list. So my suggestion is, if anyone is so crazy about being on that list, write something sexy and sure enough you could get everybody hot even without being on the hot list.
