Tthe causes and effects of infertility and the alternative remedies.

Children are blessings from God. Unfortunately, this has not been true of most couples because they are be-devilled by the scourge – infertility.

Infertitlity can be defined as the inability of a woman to conceive after a year or more of regular sexual intercourse during the time of ovulation – a woman’s fertile period. In the case of men, it is the failure to get a woman pregnant after a year or more of regular sexual intercourse. Unfortunately this has been the case of several married couples. However, it is a situation that can be remedied by natural therapies (herbs).

Some experts in traditional medicine suggests that infertility could be caused by some congenital malfunction in the male reproductive organ. The testes may be located in the groin instead of the usual scrotum. In some other cases the penis may also be poorly developed to effectively perform its functions. Hormonal imbalances may also lead to loss of libido and defective sperm formation (spermatogenesis). Anxiety and depressive state of mind can lead to loss of libido ad poor sexual performance.

Also no matter how healthy a man’s sperm may be be if the woman’s vagina is acidic at the time the sperm were introduced, their chances of survival is very slim. Sperms thrive and function best when the vagina is in an alkalin state.

In women, if the tubes are blocked it will be difficult to conceive. Blocked tubes are caused by a build up of waste or impurities from the blood stream. The more the waste the narrower the tubes and could eventually be blocked

completely. Infertility could also be caused by a benign growth that can form on the exterior of the uterus(Uterine Fibriod). Chances of this may be reduced if a woman avoids excessive intake of contraceptive pills.

The natural approach to infertility treatments recommends that men with eak erection or low sperm count should undergo a week programme of detoxification with Bitterleaf, stinging nettle and pumpkin leaves. These helps rid the blood of impurities, which affects production of hormones and improves the function of the organs. Those with watery sperm can embark on a daily intake of  vegetables, milk soya and tapioca (dried cassava meal) together. This will help thicken the sperm. Roasted unripe plantain is also a very good aphrodisiac

In the case of women that suffer irregular menstrual periods, heat in the lower abdomen, gripping or pin like pain, Balsampear (Momordica Charantia) is recommended. This also helps incompetent cervix. False thistle (Acanthus monthanus) can be used to stop internal lower abdominal heat. Diode Scadens  is used to stop miscarriage. Mistletoe  is used to correct imbalances in the hormones and irregular periods. Between twenty and thirty drops of the juice extract of this herb without dilution in an empty stomach helps barreness.
