Hey, it’s us. The investment banker, big business, industry, politicians. The “elite.” We’re the ones who make policies and the important decisions in this – your – country.

Well, of course you get to vote. Sure, technically, that means you make the decisions, but what makes you vote for who? We do. We tell you what and who you need to vote for. It’s really quite easy, actually. I mean, look at you. You just blindly accept the political slogans & ad campaigns, the biased news reports from outlets owned by private companies, and your peers, among other places we know mold your decisions.

You never bother to go do the research yourself, check on these “facts” that we show you. It’s not like we’re lying here, we’re just twisting the truth a bit – and it’s for your own good! I mean, come on. If you’re not smart enough to look into all this bullshit we’re selling you, then you obviously can’t make important decisions that affect your country or the world.

So why do we let you vote in the first place? Well, you might wake up if you don’t think you have some control. Right now, actually, you have all the control you want, you are just too ignorant to use it. The resources are out there but you’re too comfortable in front of your tube to really care about it, at least right now.

But really, you’re fine where you are. Like I said, we have your best interest in heart. We can’t have a bunch of ignorant sheep making worldly decisions here. We know what’s best. Sure we’ll take your needs and desires into account, but it has to serve our interests first. But remember, keeping you happy, or at least blindly ignorant, is also in our interest . Did you like that smiley face? See, it’s those kind of distractions that we like to keep in the front of your mind. Be mesmerized by the illusions so you don’t actually pay attention to what’s going on back here. You probably don’t want to know anyway.

Most of the time keeping you happy is easy, but sometimes we need to scare you to really get you to do what we want. We do have your best interest at heart, honestly, but sometimes you need a little push to really make the right choice – the choice we want you to make.

We’ve really got it down pat you know. Giving you just a little bit of control to make it so you don’t feel completely helpless. We’ll let you vote once every 4 years, and you will probably just vote for the person you saw the most on your tube there. His ads make him look so trustworthy, don’t they? Well, I mean, I guess you do have more control, but like I said, you’re just too ignorant to use it. You could change things, but you won’t. You’ll just sit there, nice and manipulated and distracted. And that’s good for you, and it’s good for us.
