I have been in a relationship with a video game addict for two years. I have seen the worst of the worst. But just wait it gets better….
In any relationship there are things that other people see that you don’t. I refer to them as the third party. Over a small amount of time I couldn’t help but notice that the third party that was whispering in my ear was growing larger as time went by. I remember staring at the back of his head in rage, sadly more than I ever saw his face; the constant chatter of his fingers against his keyboard just seemed to get louder and more annoying. This was my everyday routine. Yes, there were the times when I would threaten to take his computer and throw it off the balcony, or pour water in it so it would fry, he knew i wouldn’t. And his anger would stop me in my tracks immediately.
After two years of going through is addictions to Aion, League Of legends, Modern warfare 2, Modern Warfare: Black Ops and most recently Gears Of War Three, I’ve found that I, a person who loved games just as much as he did, was growing a strong hatred for them. I couldn’t wait for Gears Of War Three to come out, that is until it did and I was forced to watch it being played by him for 72 hours.
Currently, we are still in a relationship, there are times when it had ended but never permanently, what can I say as much as I hate what he does, I love this kid. Its unexplainable.
So im sure your curious to know, has he done anything else besides play video games? in the hope that maybe you find that I’m just a complaining girlfriend, and its not really that bad. I assure you it is.
In two years, I have started my first year of college, moved four times and have had five jobs.
(Him) None of the above. Except for the moving part, yes he moved around with me four times, just couldn’t leave him behind with nothing. I’m just not that kind of person which is probably why im in this situation in the first place.
So join me in my daily journey. I assure you, you won’t be bored.
Til next time.
