If you are southern – words southerners don’t use properly

For those of you from the south, here is a lesson in grammar. These are words that Southern schools just totally fail to teach.

  • Tin: This is actually spelled “ten” meaning one plus nine.
  • Far: This is actually spelled “fire” meaning the visible part of combustion (burning).
  • Tar: This is actually spelled “tower” meaning the object you can climb to see farther.
  • Pin: This is actually spelled “pen” meaning the writing utensil that has ink.
  • Beginning: It is actually two words, “big inning” meaning the three out interval in which the team scored the most runs.
  • Grammar: It is actually “grandma” but it gets fractured.

    Don’t forget Y’all and the all important “y’on’to(You All) and (Do you want’t to) sometimes southern language sounds foreign to me lol
